    Gold, Silver and Bronze
  • Play will be on a grass court 50 ft long and 16 ft wide
  • Line will be marked 8 ft from each end line (42 ft line)

Rules

  • Team disqualified if it does not have 4 players
  • Games played to 8 points (win by 1)
  • Men will throw between the 50 ft lines, women will throw between the 42 ft lines
  • Pallino must be thrown between the 8 ft lines
  • If pallino is thrown out of bounds or knocked out of bounds by another ball, there is no score, and play starts over and pallino is rethrown
  • If the bocce ball is thrown or pushed passed the end or side line, the ball is disqualified

Start

  • Toss pallino and 1 person from each team rolls bocce - closest begins game
  • Whoever throws the pallino then throws their one bocce ball
  • All players must stand in a row to toss their bocce ball
  • Players will alternate throws, player one throws first on the first round, player two throws first on the second round, etc.
  • Must toss pallino at least 8 feet.  If throw is short, pallino goes over to the other team.  Both teams still throw but team throwing first moves to throwing second.
  • Teams take turns rolling the bocce balls trying to get closest to the pallino
  • After throw is finished, one person from each team at the end where balls were thrown goes out to check who is closest to the pallino.  If both agree, that is the decision, if disagree, then official will measure
  • The team with 1-4 balls closer than the closest opponent's ball to the pallino gets the point(s). A team can have 1-4 points earned each round
  • The team that wins points throws the pallino - rotate so each player throws
  • If a ball is touching the pallino, that scores 2 points
  • Teams/officials use a string to determine distance of the balls from the pallino
  • Officials write down winners and final score
