The Details:

  • 4 lap relay race:
  • First lap: The first swimmer begins in the pool, with his/her hand on the wall. At the start signal, he/she proceeds to walk to the opposite end of the pool and tags the next swimmer.


  • Second lap: The second swimmer dons a retro life jacket and enters the pool. Holding onto the wall, he/she awaits the first swimmer's tag then walks, swims, or runs to the other end of the pool and tags the next swimmer.


  • Third lap: The third swimmer enters the pool with a kickboard, holding onto the wall. He/she awaits the second swimmer's tag then he/she holds the kickboard out in front with both hands and kicks to the opposite end of the pool and tags the next swimmer.


  • Fourth lap: The fourth swimmer starts in the pool, touching the wall. Once the third swimmer arrives and makes the tag, he/she swims freestyle to the opposite end, touching the wall to conclude the relay race. The fourth swimmer can push off of the wall to start his/her swim.


  • Each relay team must have 4 swimmers or will be disqualified
  • To identify what team is in which lane, a team shirt or sign should set at the start of each lane.
  • First place relay team from each race advances to the Gold, Silver and Bronze medal race

  •  Fastest 3 times advance to medal rounds. (Discuss with Janet and Russ)
